Ludlow Papers
Scope and Contents
The collection consists of collector’s collected newspaper clippings, photos of objects in collection, exhibition, and auction catalogs. Ludlow collection originally owned by Albert S. Ludlow of Waukesha, Wisconsin. The collection was given to the Archives by a member of the Ludlow family and identified as Frederich H. Ludlow archives. Three works in the collection of the Saint Louis Art Museum that were formerly in the Ludlow Collection, 29:1963 The Birth of the Virgin (deaccessioned in 2007), 30:1963 Posthumous Miracle of St. Stephen, and31:1963 St. Helena and the Emperor Constantine Presented to the Holy Trinity by the Virgin Mary.

Arrangement
The collection is divided into a large scrapbook full of newspaper clippings and photographs. The newspapers date to the late 1800’s. Beside the scrapbook, there are photos of objects from the Ludlow’s collection, exhibitions where the objects were included and auctions that included the collection, dating from 1966-2017.
