Board Records
Abstract
The Board records collection contains minutes, objects for consideration, presentations (drafts), correspondence, tributes, resolutions, board of control reports, statements, membership lists, and contents from the board of trustees, commissioners, and acquisitions and loans committee. The collection reflects the evolution of the decisions of the Board from the 1890 continuing through the years.

Biographical / Historical
The records within reflect the evolutions of the art museum starting as the St. Louis School and Museum of Fine arts founded in 1879, then called the City Art Museum in 1909 and finally the Saint Louis Art Museum in 1971-1972. During this time Madeline B. served as the first secretary / Custodian of Records for the City Art Museum between 1909-1922. She is credited for maintaining all official records for the Museum, including Board minutes, objects for consideration, and more throughout her time here.
