Scope and Contents
Correspondence consists of master copies of letters sent and received by all members of the Curatorial Department. Internal files relate to general departmental concerns. Includes: correspondence with dealers, institutions, individuals; departmental memoranda; Collections Committee minutes; curatorial retreats and planning meetings; study society events; research material; exhibition meetings; loans project files; Acquisitions Committee correspondence; annual reports; budgets; exhibition schedules.

General correspondence and internal departmental files. Correspondence arranged alphabetically and chronologically; internal files arranged by category.
Custodial History
Copies of correspondence of all curators and general departmental files kept by administrative assistants for easy access by all members of the department. Some curators keep copies of their own correspondence in their offices.
Transferred to the Museum Archives by administrative assistants when files are considered non-current.
