Records concerning the operation of the office of Decorative Arts, which began to emerge as a distinct section of the Curatorial Department in 1969-1970, and the care and installation of the period rooms and the decorative arts collections. Includes: correspondence; research on the collection; acquisition considerations; background for bulletin articles; conservation issues; activities of the Decorative Arts Society; files on reinstallation of the period rooms; grant information; deaccessions; consultants on decorative arts; paint analysis; University City Pottery research; travel files; contacts with dealers.
