Biographical / Historical
Richard Cleveland held the following positions in the Curatorial Department: Curatorial Assistant for Oriental Art, 1965-1966, Assistant Curator of Oriental Art, 1967-1971, Associate Curator of Oriental Art, 1972-1975, Curator of Oriental Art, 1976-1982.
This curatorial area changed from Oriental Art to Asian Art in 1983 to remove outdated language from the department title.
Steven Owyoung served as Curator of Asian Arts from 1983-2005. Other personnel in this office have been: Martha McClintock, Curatorial Assistant, 1989-1990; Elizabeth Horton, Curatorial Assistant, 1989-1990; Patricia Graham, Assistant Curator, 1991-1992.
Philip Hu served as Associate Curator of Asian Arts, 2006-2016, and is the Curator of Asian Arts, 2016-present.
